Did you notice that the 968CS isn't as quick as the 968. Strange?
That said when dealing with 10ths of a second a lot is subject to time of day, air temperature, humidity, wind direction, how fat the tester is, if the car was drivable afterwards, what pressure the tyres were at, what the road surface was like, how full the tank was, how worn the clutch was, what typre of tyres were used, how clean the car was, if the windows were open or closed.
There are tales of US Muscle car manufacturers stripping there cars down of everything, including batteries and starter motors to get good 0-60 times. Obviously this doesn't happen these days, but there are still a spectacular number of variables to consider.
