924/944's in Practical classics

Oh, and get this, one of the regulars has a 924 he's getting rid of because "of the increase in petrol prices"!
You wonder how people like that get into car magazines. I have always considered Practical Classics as written by bearded gentlemen with pipes and glasses, wearing army surplus brown overalls or brown shop coats. The cloth cap is a must.
I did buy a Practical Classics several years ago when it had a 944 buys guide. It was actually very good.

I get Retro Cars every month though because it's written by people just like me.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? And what are people just like you like Fen?[][][][][]
I suspect quite possibly someone such as your good self. I consider myself a petrolhead but the more time passes the less interested I am in new cars, but I'm not fussed by anything pre-60's. I also like proper modifying. Proper as opposed to sticking horns on the roof and a snowplough on the front of a shopping trolley with a 1.1 litre engine.ORIGINAL: John Sims

Guilty as charged. I was saying pretty much the same thing to Belinda yesterday and concluded, if the opportunity arose, the only new car I'd really like is an Aston Martin, although I might modify that to include a GT2, 3 or Turbo. The conversation was much on the lines of Beaky may cost the earth but there isn't really any other car I want - you will appreciate that he is running well at the moment, a few weeks ago I'd have swapped him for an ST220 without much hesitation.

I think Practical Classics is a great mag - i get it almost every month. I think i started getting it in my days as a Citroen 2cv owner, but i have never owned a cloth cap !
i think that one of the writers has a blue 924 - there was an article in the staff saga column recently
