Anyone considered joining us for the coming seasons 924 Championship?

Season starts at the end of March

Hello Dan [:)]

Do you mean the 'On Track Experience 924 Championship' or the 'Speed Championship' that Dave Dennett won?

Either way, let us all know the race dates.
I really must try to see some of the rounds this year...

Paul

Sorry, I meant the Porsche 924 Championship. The "on track" has been drop I believe as they are no longer the sponsors. I will post the dates as and when they are finalised.

Although support from the register would be great, if anyone fancies competing (cars are cheap and readily available), I would be happy to point them in the right direction.

Glad to hear the Championship is still going to active in 2004. Who has taken over the role of co-ordinator since the unfortunate demise of Jeff May ?

Going to be taking the ARDS course in a couple of weeks and intend to spend the year gaining track driving skills with the aim of taking part in 2005, any infomation or advise would be helpfull.

Do you race a 924 yourself Dan?

Would love to race a 924 - but not on bookseller wages [:(]

924 Race meetings are great places for informal gatherings of 924 road cars, when the dates are known perhaps the Register can meet up at a few of them.

To answer your questions:

Barry Ashman the Midlands BRSCC Coordinator will be taking over from Jeff.

I started halfway through the season last year, and completed 8 races. I had had no former race experience, and gained it with each event.

It is about a cheap to do as is possible. A set of tyres will last a season. Spares are readily available, but seldom needed (Fingers crossed). A car can be had from £1500 to £4000, with several cars for sale at http://www.porscheracingdrivers.co.uk/

I would encourage anyone interested in joining to make contact through the web page or e-mail me through my profile. We also have a 924 championship forum set up, but currently it is only for competitors.

Dan

Glad to see the Championship has survived, and that Chris Millard is still involved. See you at Brands Hatch, if not earlier [:)]

Dan, need some help, hope you can assist me. A friend and I are the proud owners of a 924 track car. We did our first track day at Oulton park on Saturday. The questons I need answering are, what are the front runners using for their brakes? Is it standard disks and EBC yellow pads? and are they all running leader suspension. If you can help could you please E-mail me off line so the competition dont get wind of what we are up to, especially Nicola's husband in his pug and friends in their XR2s.
