924 fuel meteing head

I'm looking for a good fuel metering head from a 924 to try on a mk 2 golf 16v to see if any BHP gains can be made. I'm reliably informed that it is easily fitted to the golf.
Any information / advice would be gratefully received.

I don't think the metering unit strangles the airflow, it is more likely to be the throttle body. We know from experience on the 924 that with all else being equal, just changing the throttle body gives three of four brake horsepower.

I'm having trouble getting enough fuel into the engine - the air flow is ok.
Anyway, I think I have found one now - it's same as a Volvo 2.2 petrol engine apparently!! 1990 740 GL

Hello, i went through this with my Mk1 Golf GTI and as a Volvo 240GLT owner i'm probably able to give you some information here. You must have an early 16v if it's got K-Jet and i'm pretty sure that it'll share the same throttle body as an early Audi 80 Sport 8v, the Golf GTI has the smaller one along with the 924 2.0l and i'd be surprised if it's fitted with that. If i'm not mistaken this means you've got the biggest throttle body available. The fuel system pressures of Audi, Porsche and Volvo are the same (65-77 psi) but the Volvo will have bigger injectors with it being a 2.3l but the threads are different. Yours will probably be fitted with the same injectors as the Audi 80 Sport, they have hat like caps on the end. Do you know you can re-shim the fuel pressure regulator in the metering head to raise the running pressure? As for physical size of the metering head chamber they probably only made one size.
