924 Martini Paint Colour and Code

Together with some fellow Martini owners in the US, we are trying to pin down the correct paint colour/code for the white used on the 924 Martini cars of 1977.

Common useage and various well known 924 Authority's have always stated rhat it is Grand Prix White L908. My own car is a one family owned car but unfortunately has no paint code sticker to assist me in some minor paint repairs. Contact with the fellow owners in the US has provided the information that their cars have the original sticker and even order details which clearly state the paint to be Police White L93Z. this is an Audi/VW listed colour, but not a Porsche one! I have an original Martini sales brochure which lists the cars simply as White!

Can anyone provide some concrete evidence to support the Grand Prix White assertion, or is it something that has come about by assumption?

Many thanks.

Now that's funny! I was just composing a mail to the one person I know who has a Martini to ask him.....and then I realised that he is you!
Hi Stan! [;)]

The answer is:

Name: Titan White
Code: L93Z
Notes:This is the paint color used for the Martini Special Edition.

Thanks Nick, but I beg to differ. The two members I have contacted on 924.org have stickers on their cars which clearly identify it as Police White L93Z, and this is the colour and code stated on them.. I have no doubt that Titan White and Police White are one and the same at L93Z Audi/VW colour.

Does beg the question though, are US cars painted a different colour to ROW cars, or is the Grand Prix White a myth?

hi 924 ers, i had a martini a few years ago and had it re-sprayed and striped, i sent e-mails to opc and stuttgart, i was told the uk martini`s were code L93Z and it was just for the martini, they called it " martini white" , all that said the code is the same.

sorry i don`t have any paper work as it all went with the car.
