I currently have an issue with my 924, i have fitted a 2nd hand steering wheel (due to the original being missing), there appears to be a part missing as i cannot get the horn to operate (i have checked all the wiring & this appears to be ok), can anyone advise

Can you get the horn to work by applying power to it directly - i.e., to check it functions?

I've had problems in the past with the brass wiper contact on the back of the steering wheel.

Shouldn't anything missing, there aren't any loose parts on the wheel really.

Agree with what Vince says check the horn is working first, IIRC the earth connection is down inside the middle of steering column, then there's just the connection on the back of the horn push itself

Itll probably be the horn ring. Early cars use a VW part which is held on by three screws. This also carries the indicator canceler.

maybe stupid, but is that just could be the horn itself ?

My one was working when bought the car then stopped and removed the steering wheel then realize that the horn under the car was rusty and fell off and the second one just did not work
