My 'new' 924 has a fast road cam but sounds rather tappety so I'm planning a bit of an exploratory poke around with feeler gauges this weekend.
I have a lot of experience with -ahem- Ford competition engines, but haven't had experience of the 924's arrangement of an adjustable grub-screw-with-an-angled-flat before, so I'd welcome any tips to avoid beginners pitfalls in setting the tappet gaps correctly.
The Haynes manual is at hand, but it would also be useful to hear opinions about the tappet settings on non-standard cams. I don't have the modified-cam makers spec sheet, so again I'm hoping to draw on the experience of those others in the club.
I am a new member and have just sent off my form to the 924 Register, but havent tried to tap into the club's wealthtechnical advice before. So here's hoping..
Thanks in anticipation,
Gary
