looking for a cheap car to polish and throw around local back lanes....at the moment I have a 325 iX 4wd beemer it's too good to throw about I feel guilty putting my foot down in it lol...so was looking for something to have some fun in and seen how cheap a 924 can be.
But how fast are they? can't seem to find power figures etc on them. Can anyone help me out here especially those that own/have owned one..
and how do they compare performance wise to the 944

Is 145mph fast enough - and 177bhp? In road tests it has been pitted against the Jaguar XJS - Ferrari 308 GT4 - BMW 635 CSi - Aston Martin V8 - as well as the 911SC and come out on top in many respects.

Of course a 924 Turbo needs careful maintainance to keep it on top form (and a minute idling after a journey to cool the turbo) but like all Porsches they are tough enough to cope with everyday use; and if you want fun... [:)]

Is the atomic weight of cobalt 58.93?[8|] Having driven both the early 170 and later 177 horsepower versions, for grunt I would go for a decent 170bhp model. It has a larger turbo and appears to have more torque, altough as a consequence of the bigger turbo a touch more turbo lag. On paper the 170 horse version was quicker to 60.

If you were playing poker the betting would go like this:
You need a BMW 316 to open. I'll see your 316 and raise you a 924. I'll see your 24 and raise you a 320i. I'll raise you an enlarged throttle body and a k&n. I think you are bluffing. I'll see your throttle body and raise to a 323i. Ok I will take my handbrake off. A 325i then! Ah, I'll see your 325 and raise you a 931. Eh!wassat? Oh sorry, a 924 turbo. To win you need a 328i or better. Some game of cards. Hope you all like the analogy.
