Hello all, can anyone tell me when and where the 924 Turbo was first launched by Porsche Cars.

This model is 35 years old this year but I don't seem to be able to find this information anywhere, was it a press launch like the 924 2.0, or a motorshow appearance?

This information must be out there somewhere.

Many Thanks.

Info (credit via 924 Owners Club[;)]):

LHD production started for Europe NOV 1978, to the USA in OCT 1979 and UK (Earls Court) in OCT 1979.
So 35 years for this country's launch (almost)[:)]

Hi Paul
I have just purchased a 924 Turbo (I had a new one years ago). At present it is having a thorough service as it has only done 70 miles since 2001!
I cannot find a bonnet release cable - any ideas?
