924 Turbo needing a good home (not mine)

While hiring a horrid Vauxhall Astra from Hertz the other day I spotted a 924 turbo sitting forlornly in the corner of the car yard. It turns out to belong to the owner of the car hire branch and he wants rid of it. He claims it passed an MOT 18 months ago before he parked it up but it has sat for 18 months unused. It has had a very poor paint job done to it some time ago (hiding what?) but it superficially looked all right. I suspect he would sell if for pennies but perhaps it isn't even worth that?!

If you want a project and are interested in it PM me and I can point you towards it.

'Nulters this is one that needs rescuing from the clutches of people who would rip it apart for that badge panel. Got to say that bolting a badge panel where something should be welded is a sin in itself. It doesn't even have the right curve for the S2 front. Somehow a 944 with a vented front doesn't look right, perhps with the exception of the TURBOT which suits the many bolted on bits look.

Oh and by the way, anyone who can exploit the differences between a cab monocoque and a coupe on the public roads should have their sanity called into question. Hells teeth Steve Kevlin won one of the porsche championships with his S2 Cab.

Yes - anyone foolish to wreck a viable 931 for one welded on panel should be put up against a wall and shot.

Lol, that wasn't what I meant! [:D]

Just that the OP said it would go for pennies, possibly not even worth that. I replied that the badge panel alone was worth more than pennies so the whole car should have a value. Certainly not suggesting removing it from a healthy car when there are plenty of aftermarket options that actually fit later 944s.
