924 turbo wheels?

Yes they do! Which ones are you thinking of, the BBS style criss-cross spoke 15"s, or the 928 derived 16"s?

BBS standing for B****y B*****d S**s when it comes to trying to keep them clean? [;)]

Give me Design 90's any day ... (and yes, 8"x16" Design 90's will fit under the rear arches of a 924S if you just roll the arch lip up carefully).

I didn't buy the Wheels as the Chap Didn't have the bolts...and I read on Here that the Lattice wheels have longer bolts!..and are Difficult to find!
I though about having the rear arches Rolled (at £100, not a bad price?)..But someone Mentioned the "C" word...!

I thought the wheels were mounted onto studs on the 924; they are on the 944, so I don't understand the comment about bolts.

Then you arn't doing it right. This is how I do mine.
Spray on wheel cleaner, I use a cheap one costing 99p for a spray bottle. After a few minutes ( usually after I have cleaned the rest of the car) I give them a good brushing with a car wash brush usint the shampoo left over from cleaning the rest of the car. I follow that with the powerwash usinf low pressure and a 'fan spread' Resuly, shimmy clean wheels.

The 924 uses bolts, plain and simple. The 924t has studs and uses nuts. Bolts for the 924 lattice wheels are often misnomered as turbo wheels and to be fair, in the U.S. the turbo retained the drum brake set up and the four bolt lattice wheels were fitted, so it is not cut and dried incorrect. Generally speaking though, in the U.K., the four bolt lattice wheel is more correctly referred to as the Le Mans wheel, and actually has slightly different colouring in so far as the sides of the spokes are black and there is a black ring in the rim of wheel. Compared to the standard wheel bolt the 924 needs longer bolts for the fitment of the Le Mans wheel.

Thanks for the info about the 924; didn't know that. However, he says he has a 924S, which I thought had the same running gear as a 944, hence studs and nuts, so no bolts required.

Wow, I'm (He) Really confused...If I passed up £25 (the Set!) for some turbo wheels on mis-Information..I'll..Erm..Not be Pleased!

Was thinking back to doing them on a girlfriend's BMW. I must have been too mean to buy a spray cleaner!

Actually that raises a question. On my 924S many of the visible areas of alloy on the engine have very light surface corrosion. Would one of these wheel cleaner sprays be aggressive enough to remove this as the first stage in cleaning up the engine bay ? Has anyone tried it?
