924CGT - Real or fake?

Ebay item number: 320715059495

Is the supposed underlying CGT real or fake? It looks to me like a standard 924screen has been bonded in with sealant, rather than the proper flush fitting screen. Of course chassis numbers would give it away...

Tref.

Why not ask the seller the simpler question? Of course you may get some form of converluted answer[;)]

This has appeared on Ebay several times before, the pipe from the intercooler to the turbo looks a bit suspect. The pictures look like they were taken in Kent or Sussex by the building in the background.

Here is a thread with various opinions when it was on ebay previously http://porsche924.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=7557

My beady eye bespots a four outlet metering unit, on the off side of the engine compartment. I stand to be corrected by Rick Ceasar, but IIRC at the Porsche and 911 world photoshot his GTR had a metering unit from a V8 Mercedez with pairs of outlets siamesed into one injector feed. In order to make room the metering unit of the GTR was on the near side of the engine bay. I am of the opinion the this is a CGT but not a GTR.

Well one thing it should certainly not have is pop up headlights!!! And as far as I know DD from 924OC is right, they only came in white and that car has never been white

it is not worth 18K
i owned a mint red cgt. Mint ones are only worth 14-15k

the car on ebay looks like a shed. would not buy.

The question was 'is it a CGT?', GTR was never asked. Its pretty clear its not GTR or GTS for that matter. RC's car is a GTS anyway.

The car for sale is imitating a GTS 'Rallye' with the additional wider arches. The GTR was a wider body '944' looking Le Mans/GT racer, so this cars rear decal isn't right for the body.

It has a US rear bumper. The TMIC has been damaged and re welded. Non standard CGT seats and wheel.

Without viewing and doing a VIN check with Porsche/CGT number you are never going to know exactly its heritage. Its a Frankenstein Monster car and in my own opinion not worth £25k.

The VIN suggests that its a genuine 924 Carrera GT. Whether the number belongs in that body is another matter... The car appears to have poorly fitting GTR factory copy body panels. It was the customer cars which carried the prettier panels.

I havent seen a gold 937 before, not even a prototype.....
