924s Central Locking Technical Query

Hi Folks,

I just bought a "remote control keyless entry system" from eBay - which essentially modifies the existing centrallocking to provide a remote control keyfob to lock/unlock the doors and has a third button to unlock the boot!!

It arrived today and all seems in order... but the wiring diagrams show which wires produce a Close signal and Open signal. There is an option for a negative trigger (where the Earth should be used as a switch) or positive trigger (where a +12v is used). Can anyone tell me whether I should be using a negative or positive trigger and if anyone has already gone through the pain of this modification whether there are any tips and advice I should know before getting out the 944 Haynes wiring diagram and toolkit.

If anyone is interested, the unit costs 15 quid and comes with 2 keyfobs. If I manage to do the mod correctly and if I am happy with it then I will set up a webpage with photos and insructions for anyone else who wants to follow.

Cheers
Mark
