First thought is that it should be an 1988 MY to be a Le Mans. Second thought is that £2,950 is top money for an S, it should be seriously good for that price, condition, history, everything. Third thought is that air conditioning is a scarce option on the 924.

I dont know about these things! Pic in paper is pretty poor, just see the 'S' on the door. Also calls it '2.4 litre' and '944 engine' so sounds like has no idea what he has! May go and have a look, just to see! Mike

Hi Just noticed a 924S in our local paper -1986 White Le Mans 81K 11monthe Mot 2months tax Full s/h A/C PAS £2950
if any one is interested dont know if its advertised elsewhere
Its a Leicester phone no.
Just thought as its a Le Mans I'd let people know
Mike

If it's got "S" on the door then it might not be a Le Mans but a standard S. If it has the correct wheels (white with ochre highlights) and the correct interior trim (grey with yellow pinstripe) then it may well be a Le Mans but missing the correct door decals.

I would agree with Paul that £2,950 is top money for a standard S but it's low for a good white Le Mans as Porsche produced only 167 in total of which just 37 were imported to the UK. It's the rarest of all 924 variants and if anyone sees one for sale they should grab it and hang onto it!

Hi Went to see it - curious me- does not have 'S' script but has electric sun, roof teledials, black porsche script seats, and is very good overall. Reg D292 JKK c/n wpozzz922gn402865, probably can prove Le Mans or not? Interior is perfect inc dash - no tool roll and jack is steel I think Outside is very good, always garaged and looks it - no rust, checked sills through door frame vent, exhaust is on last legs and bonnet struts are u/s, under bumper has stone chips, my 944's PU is definatly a good idea, rear bumper rubber looks ok at first but appears to have been off and not replaced quite right Engine is very clean and tidy, sounds good, didn't take it out as raining hard! But it is used and mileage (81k) is genuine Still has engine tray Running gear looks good and teledials do have some minor scuffing This guy has had it approx 7 years - last owner was PCGB member, still has badge on screen - has been looked after by ex Roger Clark Cars mechanic Chap is genuine, I suggested price was high, but he probably won't settle for much less, he has declined offers and doesn't need the money! I would like to know if it is a Le Mans though Cheers Mike

If you e-mail Marc.Noack@porsche.de with the VIN number he will confirm its original spec which, if it's a genuine one, will include the white Le Mans only optional wheels and interior.

Hi Thanks, Marc has confirmed that it is not a Le Mans. "Engine type M44/07 number 43G0XXXX gearboxtype G016.J number QK1XXXX date of invoice 20.March'86,delivered to GB color P1=alpinwhite Interior EB=leatherette black, seatinlays "Porsche"-cloth Options 261=electric mirror passengers side,288=headlampwashers,398=electric mirror drivers side,425=rear wiper,431=4-spoke leather steering wheel,650=removable top,651=power windows,657=power steering,666=without paint protection,990=seats all cloth" Well I'm happy now Mike
