924S Tyre Question

I am just about to order new tyres for my 924S.
The tyres I am currently running are 195/55/VR15. I had a look on the kwikfit website and it shows I should be running 195/65/VR15. I didn't trust this so rang the OPC and they confirmed that the aspect ratio in the manual for a 1986 924S is 65 not 55.
I'm assuming that this means I will need to replace all 4 (rather than just the back 2).
Anyone else had any experience of this?

Thanks
Sian

Hi Sian, I always believed they should by 65 profile, not 55.

Sorry to go off topic but did you resolve your loss of water/oil problem a while ago?

Hi Phil,

I was having a blonde moment yesterday, when I got home and checked my tyres, they are in fact 65 - which is a relief!
Just the slight problem now that I wanted to get Toyo Proxes T1-R's but they don't do them in a 65!

I got the car back last night from the specialist. He has redone the head gasket and replaced the piston rings. I'm doing a long run up north this weekend so keeping my fingers crossed that it is now sorted and I won't be losing anymore oil or water.

Cheers
Sian

I ran 205/60 x 15 tyres on my 924S without any problem on the original teledial wheels, which gives you access to a much greater range of tyres. I used Nankangs, by far the best of the budget tyres, and they were great (and cheap!)
