Hi looking for any information re 928S4 possible wheel change , at the moment fitted with the factory forged disc wheel. I have in the workshop a set of 18" sport classics 8J 10J ET 65 and 55and a set of 16"cup 2 7.5J 9J

I have been told that the S4 has a problem with 18" wheels ? and that there is a specific ET (front for the S4 ) and all others will cause major problems any info /thoughts would be helpful

Thanks

Hi, I was looking to change the wheels on my previous 928 and the best info I could find was here.
http://www.landsharkoz.com/forms/928wheels.pdf
Also try looking at the rennlist forum as this has been covered a couple of times.
My previous 928 had 18" rims and I found the ride terrible, I then put on boxster rims better but my new 928 with original wheels is best.
Why not try looking for a set of silver rose or d90.
Hope this helps.
The 928 offset of et65 is unique but the link explains all options.

Hi James,

Thanks for the information I will definitely have a good look at the sources/links you suggest many thanks

Some info here:

You might have already seen it - I think this is where the rather stern warning about 18"era comes from. I've always had the impression from some of the american based forums that they are a little more relaxed larger wheels (but I can't substantiate that - just sort of seems that way)

I could potentially have a set of 17 inch Cup 2s in the following sizes available - I understand they are popular in the States in these sizes for the 928 and the 8inch fronts are somewhat uncommon;

8 x ET70 front
9 x ET55 rears

....If interested. These are genuine Porsche rims.
