hi members finally got my 928s s4 got the car good sound car but can't get any history on it believe it came from the reading ,Wokingham area reg number E100 LHX how do I go about finding more info last owner died hence history gone too would be grateful of any help thanks Terry

Terry, www.check-mot.service.co.uk typically gives a history of MOTs but for your car only shows the last one. A recent plate change may be the reason for the lack of MOT history against the plate. Do you know if it was an import (Japanese?) - is the readout in km or miles?

You can write to the DVLA and request a history of ownership. There's a small charge for this, but you get a list of all previous owners known.

Congratulations on getting the car!

Do you have the service book, Terry? If so you could try the places it has been serviced for info? (If they are still in business!)

Thanks for reply no I don't have the service book the guy who owned the car passed away and it's been missing since he owned the car from 1999 his son in law put through mot 2 months ago and that's the only mot on dvla system unlless had plate change what do you suggest thanks terry

Thanks for reply and no service book guy who had car snice 1999 passed away leaving no trace of records and Dvla show just one mot 2 months ago done by his son in law it could have had plate change what do you think maybe ask dvla for owner report thanks Terry

Could also try Porsche Cars GB Reading - give them the VIN and see what they can come up with? 0118 930 3666

i tried gave them vin number and they know of the car but no service history with them think I will try dvla for owner history thanks Terry

If you run a HPI check on the car it will give you all the previous registration numbers that the car has had, plus a load more interesting stuff besides.
I think they cost around £15 online.
I used this service when buying my 928, and was definitely worth it.
Cheers
Max
