930 Interior Query

I am new to 930 ownership so please forgive my ignorance: -

When I remove the carpets from the passenger footwell all that is left is a piece of wood. It is the same on the drivers side.
Is this correct?
Can I get replacements as both are damaged?

Is there any way to cover up the exposed wiring?

That is correct its the same on my 86 carrera,as for replacements i saw someone at the last autojumble selling reproductions for about £100!!.
Hope this helps

Since I posted my question, I have been in touch with OPC Swindon. They have ordered me originals at a cost of £120 the pair, which I thought was quite fair.

Interesting about the cost of the OE parts through the OPC.
That's not the first instance that I've come across of a relatively obscure part, that you wouldn't normally think to ring the OPC Parts Department about, still being available at a reasonable price. Yes, I know they are only bits of shaped plywood, but hey! what price originality?!
Incidentally, I have also seen some expensive aftermarket ones made from the ubiquitous chequerboard aluminium - they look good (until you cover them up) and are no doubt durable, certainly not prone to warping and ultimate disintegration when the footwells fill with water - I had such high hopes for that particular Carrera 3 at one point!
