How many times have we wondered about this question. Well it seems it's answered here.
Assuming its right its fascinating!

Peter,
Well it shows 1 x 1977 930 Turbo, which is right for my garage ! But I suspect there are planty more 930's in the UK right now than what are shown, maybe they should show chassis numbers of the cars to identify them ? Interesting info though.
Andrew.

I too suspect that the figures are on the low side. I have a 1975 3.0 which is registered, but know of at least two others, one of which I suspect is registered, yet the figures show only one. Possibly a job for John to fill in the blanks from the register?
1974
1975
1976
1977
1978
1979

I'm still amazed that my Local OPC can still supply most parts within 3 days, usually at a reasonable cost! I have a 1972 MG Midget made up almost entirley of parts from the BMC parts bin, yet I have more difficulty getting bits for that than a do for the limited run 930 3.0!

I'm not planning on filling in the blanks, but it's safe to say that the figures are extremely inaccurate re the earlier cars - what I don't understand, given the source, is why?

Must be incorrect in my case as I have a 1980 911 turbo, which is licensed. Data shows no 1980 turbos either licensed or SORN.

Would be interesting to know how many there are on the roads, but as you've said, it's strange why such data would be available with such inaccuracies.

Thanks,
Martin.

Hello all,

Just though I would put up a post regarding the 1976 UK 3.0 Turbo I have. Acquired it in Aug 2010, from Germany. Formerly a PCGB demostrator car, reg NLP 83P. I am restoring it back to the condition it left the factory. Currently it is in reasonable condition, and apart from the whaletail and AC compressor missing, was pretty standard. Original owners manual and maintenance book in the glovebox along with service records going back to 1983. Sold out of Falcon Works, London Road in Isleworth Middlesex garage in March 1976, registered to Porsche Cars Great Britain.

Below is a picture of the car as it is currently.

Regards,

Ciaran

my OPC can't get me anything for my 77 3.0 - which OPC do you use?

CFD - welcome to the forum and +1 on the great car and colour :)

I have a 77 that used be in the UK but now resides in Singapore so I'm sure that one on the list isn't mine

Thanks for the welcome Aldo / Carreracat

Carreracat: - have followed your progress on the other forums - great job. Nice to see these cars being brought back to original (or very close).

Does the registry that John look after contain details on:
1. 930's currently in the UK,
2. Cars originally registered in the UK (but may be outside the UK now)
3. All known 930's?

Would be happy to provide info on mine if appropriate.
