931 badge panel...

...Finally got round to finishing and fitting my 931 badge panel! I'm really pleased with the results, there is a tiny blemish (dent in the steel which I obviously didn't do quite enough to rectify - about 6 in right and 1 in up from badge - any cool sticker suggestions greatly received!), but other than that I'm really chuffed! Still have the 951 headlight covers in place and not really sure they need changing. Had fun on the project but I think I'll get someone else to do my painting next time! What do you guys reckon? Cheers, bennyboy.

Looks like a good job, though unfortunately the black on black doesn't really show them off to the max impact - but to the trained eye it looks great. From the photo the paint job looks fine and so do the 951 light covers. I wouldn't bother changing unless you really need to.

I like the 'Turbo' sticker that goes on top of the drivers side wing. It looks even better with the white sticker on black. Would set it off just right.

I think black is a good colour for this, or maybe the angle of your picture helps because the fitment looks perfect and I can't detect the different curvature of the front edge. The 951 light covers are fine also and the panel gaps look good. Shame about the dent though - you should have kept quiet we would never have noticed [;)]

Thanks for the comments chaps. Yeah, I did think about keeping quiet but I didn't want anyone to be dissapointed if they see it! Scott, I'm also a fan of the 'turbo' wing sticker, but I meant a little sticker to put over the small blemish on my badge panel [;)]

[:D]Hi Ben

How different is the curvature of the front edge of the badge panel to bumper as it is difficult to detect from your picture.

Do you have any pics looking from a different angle, looking directly down on badge panel to see the difference?

Looks really good by the way

Hi Lee, it is considerable shall we say. In my case, it was sufficient that right in the centre of the car, there was a small gap between the rear edge of the bumper top, and the leading edge of the badge panel. I managed to find some plastic (don't ask me what type it is!?) to lay on top of the bumper and overhang the rear edge a little to cover the gap. I also managed to spray it my cars paint colour too, so I think it looks really good. It has to be thin though, or else you will struggle to fit the badge panel in place. There's only really 2 more quite major bits of work to do which is to remove or bend some of the metal behind the badge panel (on the sides of the rad) - this allows clearance for the vents - and to remove half of the bottom vent clips on the 2 edge vent holes. Will post some more pictures later.

Thanks for that Ben

Interested to see how it all fits together.

It does look very nice in the picture.

Be careful you don't loose any of the vents though. As I understand they are becoming as rare as rocking horse droppings.

If they aren't well fixed they can attract the wrong sort of attention.

Thanks for the advise John. I'll post a few more pictures from different angles to give you guys a better idea of the fit...
