Hi Folks, as per title, has anyone got a good condition 944 8v Cylinder Head they are willing to part with?

My turbo head has a crack, and my spare head unfortunately has a massive scratch across the face of one of the cylinders.

Thanks!

Are they beyond repair?...today's Tig welders in the right hands can work wonders.

I have a couple in the garage but I don't actually know what state they're in - they came off engines that I never saw running. I could take some pics if they're of any interest?

Need to have another chat with the machine shop, he did say it was probably repairable.

Jim, that would be super, what part of the country are you based in? I'm near Worcester in the Midlands.

Not long after I put my car back on the road after the engine rebuild the head failed due to a crack at the front where the water inlet chamber is. The repairer I contacted wasn't sure if it was repairable but took the job on if it had no warranty, I took the gamble as I didn't want to lose the LR Stage 2 head, its still going strong 8 years later and running extreme levels of boost.

If your guy thinks its repairable then it probably is.

Thanks Guys - Dorset is a fair old trek for me.

I've spoken to the machine shop and he is more confident about being able to repair the scratched cylinder head, but has suggested I bring it down to him and then he can advise the best course of action.

I've also just purchased a stripped 8v N/A cylinder head from the Netherlands for a bargain price of 90 euros delivered, so that will give us a third option.
