944 and Oil = Accident !

oh well my first accident has been and gone about an hour ago when at about 50 mph on a dual carriageway ( weather damp roads ) according to the police I hit what looked like oil and sent the 944 into 2 360 degree spins which I coudnt control ,ended up in the central reservation having demolished all the shubbery ( thank god it wasnt a steel barrier ) the car was wedged firmly and needless to say Im a tad shaken being a relatively novice driver[:)].

Damage , even the police who where in an unmarked car about 250 yds behind and saw the whole incident are staggered that despite the car looking like its been rallying there appears no damage to the bodywork or alloys - however 2 small kerbs where sheared by something so the car is going on a ramp at the moment to see any damage below although it has driven the 2 miles to the garage without any probs.

So that's a blowout and my first spin in the Porsche

I'm glad your not hurt and the car seems to be unscathed.

Perhaps you'd better change your signature - 'Preston - Sunny Lancs' obviously doesn't include dual carriageways !

Best regards,

Rick.

Thanks Rick [:D] ' Sunny Lancs with patches of oil on dual carriageways ' maybe a Vauxhall VX220 had been down the road earlier [;)]

Car been on ramp and no visible damage can be found but Ive come off slightly worse with a quick trip to A&E as my back starting me a bit of grief and they have ' popped a disc back in ' technical term !

Cheers

Blimey! Two spins and no damage (apart from the back) - you were very lucky []

Hope you feel 100% soon

Thanks John and Paul - have to admit one day on that I cannot really believe that after two full spins and major contact with the grass central reservation that the car is completly unscathed , even had it on the ramp again today at work convinced that something must have been damaged but no not a mark.

Very thankful that a slightly damaged back is as bad as it got
