hi everyone

I have just bought a 944s and im well pleased with it, but we have a 2 year old daughter and we cant just leave her at home, I know theres a specific seat made for the rear seats, thing is where do I get one from?

anyone know of anyone selling one or can you get them new still?

Thanks, James :)

Sorry, my lads are all grown up so I know nothing about car seats anymore. I know when they were younger they fitted nicely in the rear buckets, but legislation has now changed.

I dont think any of the modern seats fit, I was told a Britax ranger fits and purchased one online last year but think it may have been one of the last available, While it does fit it has a flat base and the seat is curved so it is not perfect. It does convert to a booster so should fit over a large age range. Since my daughter has been old enough to use it my car has been off the road (lack of time) so I havent even tried her in it. IIRC the Porsche Prince is also supposed to fit but I am not sure what age range it covers and have never seen one, they do come up in the classifieds and on ebay occasionally. All the seats require a diagonal 3 point belt and I think cabs only have a lap belt so cab drivers struggle - at least with the roof down its less claustrophobic for mum in the rear [&:]

Just been through the same thing myself - someone recommended the Maxi Cosi Rodi.

I bought the Enzo version, which is red... obviously!

It has a relatively narrow base so can sit OK in the rear buckets, although the seat belt securing it has to to be clicked into the neighbouring seat's 'socket' due to the lack of space.

It fits fine for my 3 year old, although that is intended for 15kg upwards, so perhaps not so good for your 2yr old?

Cheers

And from Nouveau "...Maxi Cosi Rodi Fits 924/944/928 They're about £80/£90 (Even in Pink..Fit for a Princess) "

and in halfords curently £50 for children 4-12? 15-36kg

Or register as a minicab then you dont need rear seatbelts for children - must be because 10 year old primeras are so safe.

We just bought a new seat for my wifes car - this says it should only be used in the rear this seems strange as it fits perfectly well in the front (other than the airbag which means it cant) and the legislation doesnt seem to need it to be in the rear only ....strange and it would also fit the front of the 944 and has alot more side protection than the ranger.

Strange - anyway when I were a lad etc.

Mmmmmmm, I wonder if I could get Southbound to trim a lightweight Recaro in the same style [:D]

I've got a Recaro child booster seat in my daily driver for my 3 1/2 year old and it is very cool...

...closest to a Recaro Profil I could afford![:D]

as for the recaro seats, dont want to worry you, but have you read up on them?

Sorry, I was being flippant and talking about one of their bucket seats like this, but trimmed in the baby colours :ROFLMAO:

Why, what is up with them? Ours converts to a booster seta (ie remove the harnesses) and I have to say that it is far better made and padded than the Maxi Cosi one that protected my daugher when some pillock drove in the back of us on the M6 last May[][].

Not heard or read anything negative about them, until now...[&:]

Which? did a safety report on loads of baby seats, and the recaro range came last in all the tests, so much so that halfords and mothercare no longer sell them (or they didnt when I was looking for a new seat for my impreza a few months ago)

I asked for the recaro one at halfords and that was explained to me, apparantly they are classed as unsafe in a crash.

worth looking into.

James :)

ive just seen they are still selling them on the website.

if you search for which? recaro test on google its near the top. think you have to pay£1 for a 30 day entrance to the website.
