944 bodywork repairs (corrosion)

As with most '44s these days, my car has developed some minor corrosion on the very bottom of the trailing edge of the front wings.

Are there any bodyshops in the Essex/Suffolk/Herts/North London area which you can recommend? I am more interested in a quality job than a low price.

regards
Nick

I haven't used them myself but S.A.R classics in Kimpton,Herts are very good & deal with 944's.
I believe Peter Empson used them on his car, & was happy with the result.

Nick,

I would recommend Daytona Coachworks in Stevenage, they do alot of Porkers, owner is a club member and 928 owner, definately do a quality job and reasonable too, http://www.daytonacoachworx.co.uk/.

If you let them know you are a club member they will look after you, if you call them mention my name...

Thanks guys for all the speedy responses. I might try Daytona in Stevenage since it's quite local.

just used my local brach of nationwide for this, it was very minor corrosion, about bottom 8" of arch on the lip. but neeeded seeing to before it got worse. good job done, cost £200 with 3 year guarantee.

Clark & carter restorations in Cressing (NR Braintree)
Believe you me - when you see what those guys get up to - you wont be concerned as to the quality of the job. Generally have a host of Rolls Royce, Bently, Porsche and ferrari in various states of undress, making a few blisters on a wing look almost trivial....
They did a complete repaint of my 930 turbo as well as other bits to various other motors ive owned.
Speak to Steve... trust me they know their stuff, i went there after i got an absolutely terrible job done at my local OPC...... say no more!

I've visited Clark and Carter and they do seem to do some exquisitely good work. For example, it's these guys who build the PS Autoart cards for Paul Stephens.

Just waiting for the quotation now...

regards
Nick
