944 brake discs

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if the 944 S2 brake disc contains a machined surface like a cog for the ABS sensor to pick up - or is it in the hub?

It's on the hub.

With the brake disk off you should see a load of teeth that the ABS sensor reads to determine if the wheel is moving or not

I was hoping that they would have been on the discs and mine need relacing as are warped. Basically my ABS light is on, i have tested all of the sensors from the ABS ECU and so tested all the wiring. I'm thinking that maybe these need a clean up, and have maybe become clogged with rust or the like. Is this quite a common failing of the ABS system?

Could just be the sensors need a bit of a clean as a build up of crud can cause them to mis read on some vehicles.

would i need to take them out to do that, or can i get to them with the discs off?

Get the disk off and you can see the ABS sensor and cog wheel.
