There are a few documents on the Web about the Cabrio roof, mine had broken torsion cables on both side's, this is where the roof meets with the windows and it should be under tension. I mangaged to go to Halfords and got some used bike brake cable and repaired them. So getting back to your problem, does the roof manually come down? then it's a case of taking apart the covers around the motor to see what the cause of the problem is. The two files you require are sbv1 and sbv2 take a look at this link below
