944 cab hood parts

sun's out so need to refurbish cabriolet hood mechanism, motor whirrs but nothing happens!
all bolts etc in place so we have a mystery.

any ideas? also where can I locate hood mechanism parts if , for example, a cable is broken

There are a few documents on the Web about the Cabrio roof, mine had broken torsion cables on both side's, this is where the roof meets with the windows and it should be under tension. I mangaged to go to Halfords and got some used bike brake cable and repaired them. So getting back to your problem, does the roof manually come down? then it's a case of taking apart the covers around the motor to see what the cause of the problem is. The two files you require are sbv1 and sbv2 take a look at this link below

If you need any parts, I have a complete frame without fabric that we kept just to rob odds and ends from and not needed it yet, so any part you need, give us a call... Come to think of it, we have tons of every part for a 944, either racked up (Just in case its needed) over the years, along with 3 or 4 parts cars tucked into the corner of the back compound, if you need any part we would probably have it!
