944 Cab side sills

I have bought a pair side skirts hoping to fit them onto my cab but have discovered that they don't fit - there is a rather large gap in the front sill area behind the front wheel. The seller said they will fit all 944s and I wonder why they won't fit my cab. I remember the other cab owner had experienced the same problem too ( http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=103456&mpage=2&key= ).

Titanic's 944 history page ( http://www.titanic.co.uk/944/paulsmith/history.htm ) has also mentioned ...
"Strengthening the bodyshell was the first priority for ASC, stiffer and wider sills, additional cross member sections, stronger door pillars and a steeply raked windscreen ..."

Can someone please advice if the front sills on the 944 Cabs are different (wider) than the turbo/S2 coupe.

Hi Charles,

As far as I'm aware, there's no difference. But.....

As the evo-stick-on dodgy plastic monstrosities didn't fit the last chap's attempts, I hope you have the sellers assurance that he'll refund you! [8|]

Bring them along Saturday evening and we can see if they fit any 944's, or if your car is just a mongrel. [;)]
