It is truly great to see that sight! About 8 years ago I was tootling (NOT!) down the Autobahns to Munich in my Corrado G60, and got overtaken by a 944..... then by a caravan.....! I was not hanging about either!

There was a picture knocking around the forums a few years ago of a Benetton painted 944 towing a similarly multicoloured caravan - it was a bit pukey [&:]

944's have good torque, and a reasonable amount of weight, so should be quite good for towing with. Sticking a tow ball on the back of a 944 does seem a terrible thing to do though.

Yes indeed - what's needed is some kind of quick-release mechanism for the towbar! Would love to be able to tow a trailer with the 944 on odd occasions, but couldn't live with that ugly towball 24/7.

Yay - that's the one, funny how I remembered the caravan to be multicoloured too, my memory is normally so good

Thanks for finding it Trevor [;)]

oooh just had a thought - I can do that to mine when I finish my spraying course []

I'm afraid I subscribe to the opinion that no car should be allowed to tow a caravan ever under any circumstances; they should be made illegal with immediate effect. No problems with towing of trailers though, albeit the thing I'd most want to tow would be my 944.
