944 Decals (i think that is the terminology) ?

SOme 944's have porsche writing down the sides other do not, is this original on certain models or would they all have had them at some point in their life?

As far as I am aware purely an after-thought by a previous owner. My 944 had them on. Thought is would be an easy job to remove with a hair dryer. It was apart from the driver's side wing. Clear laquered over the decal, so £200 to have wing sprayed. Car certainly looks better without them IMO.

Cheers,

definatley looks better without them i agree with that, not sure why you would put them on in the first place to be honest . Were they standard on the 924 ?

I think some dealers fitted them on the 924 to try and boost flagging sales. Never looked right imo - don't think they were ever supplied from the factory like that.

i remember watching an episode of wheelder dealers once and i am sure they were putting new ones on the 924 which is what made me think they were standard.

Breaks up the panels, probably masking some dodgy paintwork. (They're doing these things to a budget not money no object).

Cheers,

I`ve seen some cars with `torbo` on top of the front drivers wing.......

Cant make up my mind if I like it. It looks good on some cars.

But you'd hate people always telling you you'd mis-spelt "turbo"on your car.....[:D][:D][:D]

Wasn't Rick going to make some of these?

To be honest I kind of like the decals across the side....

Mine doesn't have them but I was seriously considering adding them once I got the bodyword sorted out (thinking of restoring it to prisitine condition).. but now I think i will probably devalue it if I do that! plus people will think they are just there to hide dodgy panels :(

mine didnt have the decalswhen i first got the car , i put them on a few weeks ago , i think the alpine white looks a bit bland just breaks up the colour a bit red ,blue and black are a different look and dont seem to need them as much
i quite like the way mine look tbh
but hey if every one liked the same things the world would be more boring than it is allready

As digio sagely observed: "If we all liked the same things the world would be more boring than it is already..."

A bit "Halfords" for me [:D]

Wasnt the turbo script on the right front wing just for the 'silver rose' edition turbo, which came complete with a ghastly burgundy and grey pinstripe interior.

which in every respect I happen to bluddy love. (decals and interior)

Id almost retro fit that turbo script, something horribly 80's about it. Did someone say you can buy em somewhere?

Cheers
Charlie

Sometimes quite like that wing "Turbo" decal, sometimes not - if Rick did produce them would certainly be tempted. Not such a fan of the Porsche script down the side, but each to their own and one thing I love about the 944 crew is the variety of our respective machines , not just the models but the various small (and not so small) tweaks that are made to them - Not many clones around which some models seem to consist entirely of.
