Does the 944 have a diagnostic socket? If so, where might i find it?

My abs doesnt work and if the car has a diagnostic port then surely connecting the car to a super-computery-thingy at a garage will tell me which part of the system has failed... right?

Cheers guys,
Mark.

On the turbo's it is behind the passenger side suspension tower and it a black plastic cover maybe 1.5" in dia. If you remove it there will be about four or so circular sockets. I'm not so certain that it is sophisticated enough to be able to diagnose ABS problems though. I'm guessing it will provide a pretty rudimentary diagnostics functionality at best.

thanks, will have a look for it. A friend of a friend said he can plug it into his computer thing and see whats what. I suspect you are correct, I too don't think that the on board computer will log faults down to the required level.

The port sawood is talking about is only for the KLR.
To test the abs you have to get a bosch 'hammer' to connect u to it. I think the chances of you finding someone other than a grage with a 'hammer' is slim.
Your best bet will probably be checking the fuses, and relays (not forgetting the 2 on the actual pump) and measuring the ohms on the sensors.

Done the ohms on the sensors and checked the main ABS relay. I have yet to test the relays on the pump. That is next i think.
