944 Drivers door handle

Managed to snap the lug connecting to the trigger mechanism when swapping to a new door so replacement needed, any idea where I'll source one, tried ebay but non listed at the moment.

Thanks

Tried OPC, Newcastle £5 cheaper than Exeter, (must be the North South divide [;)])

still £98 plus VAT though[]

now to try the breakers, little sceptical though as mine broke really easily when removing from the old door and feel the alloy became brittle with age, is that possible?

Did you tell Exeter that? Did you say you were from "the forum" or PCGB? I expect Exeter would beat any other OPC's price for a forum member.

I doubt the scripted ones are still available new anyway.

It should'nt be a scripted one on such a late car.Im not 100% sure but isnt the bare handle the same as the n/s which would be easier to get hold off ??

Yep said I was PCGB member and active on the Forum. In my experience OPC Newcastle are really competitive and will continue to be so in the current economic climate

Not after a scripted one just plain and that was the price I was quoted

You dont need to buy complete handles any longer. A careful search on t'eBay will find a replacement for the small cast part which has broken. MY'88 onwards dont have the Porsche script on them, if yours do then theyve been changed when a handle has failed previously ('86 & '87 handles used to be cheaper...).

It think ashley has snapped the lug on the actual handle its self where the rod attches onto ??

Correct

not sure where the broken bit went to either can't find it in the door[8|]

If it is the "the bit that usually breaks" they are about £15 on ebay or about £8.50 from exeter !!

Things change. The part didnt used to be available at all.
