944 Estate Anyone?

Oh bl00dy hell - do I have to get one of them as well now? Did they make any in Glacier blue?

It has some nice features, well in the way that a bus has some nice feaures.

You couldn't say that the wheels don't fill the arches though. It's got some nice rubber and "Big Reds", would be great for camping.

It's got to be "The" vehicle for the Smith Clan.

Particularly the rear aspect...

I'm surprised that Porsche didn't produce the original car like that in the first place. It would also have solved the problem of the sun bleaching the cloth on the top of the back seats.

Just think how clean the back window is going to stay. They were obviously concerned at retaining the 50/50 weight distribution as they have removed the rear wiper motor to re-ballance the car.

It looks much better in silver:

I'm trying to think what the roof line reminds me of. Allegro estate?

Hang on, Hang on....... a 944 hurse!!

If you have to go to the grave, go in style. Its certainly better than a knackered old Granada or Carlton. Lets face it, theres no way you'd fit in a 911, I don't even think they balance you on the rear spoiler!

Oi []

There's nothing worth having that you can't get into two 944's, though I do find it strangely appealing if more than a little like the Allegro. Maybe I shall have to start wielding my moderating stick if Fen starts posting more and more Austins [8|]

p.s I have a mini metro

Y'know, the more I look at that silver one the more I like it [:D] I wonder which car would attract most attention at major events and trackdays?

If it was based on a Turbo and was under ÂŁ10k I would seriously think about it (if the conversion was done well), but unfortunately 25,000 Euros is way way too much.

Even better in Baltic blue. There you go, Paul...

Notice there are no metallic black ones pictured. Weird?

No that blue one looks just horrid [:'(]

Maybe its just the low angle of the silver one, or the wheels, but it does look much nicer (still not paying 25k Euros tho [] )

Come on Paul, you know you want it.

It would be totaly awesome for track days, and no problem for carrying the slicks. In fact, you could carry slicks and wets, and a jack, and tools, and a fold down awning.

And it is more torsionally rigid than the standard car, it said so in the blurb.

And it has a light weight GRP roof.

And it is one of only seven hand built specialist performance cars (or is that eight now?)

And you haven't got one.

Hmm, I believe you did. It isn't my biggest concern though. I could've had my sunroof panel completely out of the car for the last 23 months and it would still be dry inside [&o]
