944 gearbox

Itll certainly fit. The ratios arent that different, if at all; although I dont have areference to hand (or the link on this computer, unfortunately).

The sender is identical too, yes. Hopefully someone will be able to post a link to a transmission ratio comparison page. Most information relates to North American cars, but transmissions are similar.

so the s2 is geared slightly higher? is the s2 box any stronger and does it have a lsd?

Yes slightly higher, dont think its any stronger, LSD was an option but they are rare on S2's more common on Turbo's (but the gearing is taller still I believe).

I believe the S2 boxes are supposed to be stronger, I haven't broken a R&P on an S2 whereas I have done a few on the Lux boxes [:)] and I'm not the only one. I think the 944S box is stronger too, but that's purely based on personal experience (I had one fitted to my Lux for a while as well as the one I have in my 944S).
