944 help

Hi, I am thinking to buy a 944 2.5 (not turbo) from 1987. The engine of the car has been changed 3 times in its life. On the clock the car got 151 K miles, but on 2001 the engine was changed for a used one. The problem is that the owner doesn't know how many miles the engine got now.
I would appreciate your advice.
Regards

All sounds a bit dodgy to me, I know some 944 engines are good for 250k if serviced properly. You dont mention any service history. If it does not have a full service history I would say forget it.
regards Cliff.

I do not now this for sure, but I always thought that if an engine is changed then this has to be recorded with the DVLA and an entry made on the vehicles V5 logbook.

Just my opinion but if the current owner does not know anything about the cars history then I personally would not be satisfied that it has been looked after/ maintained properly.
