just a quicky,

i've been sent the wrong hub seals, and im in the middle of fitting new wheel bearings, the old seals are toast (car stripped before new bits arrived).. my local motor factors is being helpful but dim, they dont sell seals separately but "may" have a wheel bearing kit with the correct seals in..

just need to know what other commonish car they may have been used on.. ?

google says oldskool beetle .. motor factors says "less chance of that than porsche mate"..

yes, im just beyond the edge of civilisation..

if i cant get seals by this evening im going to have to hire a car for the weekend .. which sux.

Early car yours from memory, so I would have though either VW Golf and/or old skool Beetle - certainly many of the suspension components on the early 'pressed steel suspension arm' cars came from the Golf and Beetle.

The McPherson struts came from a Super Beetle, the wishbones and brakes (on a 924) came from a K70 and the rear beam was lifted straight off a Beetle; this was revised for the 1978 modey year. The five stud hubs are unique though.

Easiest way is to take hub & seal to local bearing suppliers, they'll should have a seal off the shelf to fit.

Or alternatively measure it & go here
