Hello Benno! Try this link from the last few days for some ideas (additional links are within...). http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=622202

Hi,

I have just purchased a 944 2.7 Lux. I am female 30 years old - can anyone recommend a good insurance company? It will be kept locked up and used at weekends as a second car - prob 3k miles per annum.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

KB

Aah brilliant...thank you so much Simkin!!! Hope to be on the road at the wknd...thank you again! Kb

I'm the same age, with the same car on the same kind of usage policy but am not a woman. I pay £118 fully comp through RH insurance. Post up a pic (one of the car too if you like)! ;)

Lancaster are good for me. I'm 22, female, licence since 17, music teacher and only ever had classic cars (apart from a forlick with a Boxster S but thats a different story!), OH is 25, male, licence since 17, musical instrument tech. Insurance on the Porsche is just under £500 (less then £200 come renewal when I'm 23!). We also have an MGB GT V8 (factory car) which costs us £140 per year! Both with Lancaster.

Thanks guys...the best rate I got today was £125.00 with RH Insurance, Footman James were not far off the mark also with £149.00 ...all a bit too good to be true! am off to pay my deposit now! Cant wait!

Yup -- great stuff. I use RH too, found them easily the most competitive, and fairly generous mileage allowance at 5000 a year compared to some of the others. Bring back the sun, and enjoy!

Classic Line have 1 big thing in their favour - excess is only £100 on my policy! Lowest alternate was IIRC £350 excess, and many wanted £500. Wife has her bus pas, and I'm now the same age!
