Hi,
With nearly 2 dollars to the pound has anyone ordered parts from 944online and are you happy with them?
At the moment it's like 50% discount.
Sounds too good to be true. And it is. Anything over £30 in value is subject to VAT. I found that out when I bought a second hand steering wheel from a US source on ebay. I actually ended up paying more than it would have cost from a UK seller - despite it being an absolute bargain when I won. What's more - the taxman includes the cost of shipping when calculating duty to be paid.
It only really pans out if you can have someone bring it in with their baggage and not declare it through customs.

Actually, the limit is a bargaintastic £18... [:'(]
The posttage cost is factored in as well, only on items that are valued at over that £18 though.
(So if the item is £17.99 - and the postage is £10 then there is still no customs charge).
The best guide seems to be "What it says in dollars is what you will pay in pounds."
Failing that ProMAX (The Porsche one not the Welsh Rally Specialist one) buy a lot of gear from Lindsey Racing. It is always worth giving Andrew a ring as he might be able to get you a better deal than if you went dirrect - and you will no exactly what you are going to pay.
