I posted something similar in an argument on pistonheads once

Don't remind me anyway, I spent all evening watching holiday videos with clips of driving in WUF and all the guages, view of pop up headlights down the bonnet at night. Missing the car like crazy now! Just want to go for a drive[&o]

Must admit before I got the people carrier if I needed things from B&Q etc. I would take the 944 as things would more than likely fit in although I did get a few comments at the builders merchants when I filled it with bags of cement and sand [:D]

944 - practical sports car, yes- great description.

I too have used mine for transporting DIY materials, a couple of years ago, when Wickes had a sale, I topped up the insulation in my loft. The 944 could fit in three of their big 100mm rolls in the back and one in the passenger seat.

Try that in a Boxter or a Cayman! [:D]

I have also used the 944 as a gigging vehicle, safety of venue permitting! Can fit Two guitars in cases, my amp, a 2x12 Marshall cab, pedal and cable bags, Mic stands and guitar stands, plus a couple of powered vocal monitors on the passenger seat.

And still be able to see out the rear window!

I love that my car can outgun a 911 on the racetrack and then do a trip to Ikea the next day to collect furniture. The ultimate all-rounder.

I collected a lawnmower in my old S a few years back.
Chap nearly fell over when he saw it - he didn't think it would fit - of course it did!

I pick up a seven foot Christmas tree in the 944, every year.
Yeah, but it must get a bit smaller each year. What with the bits that drop off each Christmas.

Still, after a couple of years there can't have been any needles left, so the mess would have gone down quite considerably.

Oli.

4 is quite regular - 3 adults 1 gazebo 6 chairs and 4 cooler boxes and the other bits for an afternoon at a club event, is my record.
6' 5" friend in the back, anyone?
5' 7" daughter hour each way and happy ( porscheshop 944 visit)
Just brilliant!

Mike

The back seats are certainly not built for adults. Raising the sunroof provides a little extra headroom though!

Is that the guy who took his 944 in the the specialist and say there was a strange rattle coming from the back [:D]

Four people and a weekend's camping gear! Can't say that it was exactly comfortable; but everyone fitted.

Shame I can't get a baby's car seat that will fit tho...

Surely the back seats are about the same fit as a baby seat anyway? That's what I plan to do, blanket for cushioning if required. Wee ones go in the back:)

I have used mine for various tip runs and furniture collection, but the best demonstration must be my Mum's old 924 when I were a lad, she used to pick me up from air Cadets and often give a couple of my mates a lift back to the nearest town, one night there we got me and 4 other cadets in (before rear seat belts were compulsory) 3 across the back and one lying in the boot!

That's good going.
Could suggest wife goes in the back, tactfully of course!
Mike

I got thumped when I suggested that!

Our little'un is too small for that. Aside from that, it's also illegal now.
