£35k since 2010 and it's only done 90k . .

Considering you can buy a new car for £35K one assumes it must be close to all new [;)]

Does the guy that spent £35k on it want to sell his house ? :ROFLMAO:

Well to be fair I've spent a lot more than that on my own car, mind you over a longer period, still have more to spend too...money pit comes to mind...:) btw I bought my car from 911 virgin all those years ago...Henry did the selling back then, I don't think Tom was there although I have met him since, iirc I took a work colleague who was interested in buying a Porsche along to see 911 virgin...

Nice looking car Paul, well done on buying what looks like a very fine example....

This S2 does look very nice, but building a new 400 bhp turbo engine and also maintaining it over many years/miles is different to restoring an S2. How many people on here would sink £35k into an S2. The OP is obviously benefiting from the previous owners open wallet, good luck to him.

very true Paul but hey we've all guilty of spending far too much money on our cars no matter what they are....if I ever sold mine someone would get a great deal that's for sure, as Paul has with his S2. Now that I have the mechanicals in good shape I need to attend the body again even though she had a full glass out respray about 15 years ago. As I said 'money pit' there's always something that needs doing on a classic car, modified or not...

I've modified a lot of cars and bikes over the last 30 years Pete, but it's mainly been with bolt ons that I removed and sold separately so I didn't lose much. I've got most of the bit's to build a 3.0 engine but I know I'd probably take a £5k+ bath if I built the engine and sold the car later.

As I think has been said; its not always about what its worth in £'s its about preserving and enjoying some good cars. I look forward to seeing this one in the 'flesh'.

Personally I prefer the S2 to the turbo as a road car. It might not have the charisma yet but their a great 'GT' car by any standards (my opinion of course [8D])

Guys, thanks for the replies, I sold my other S2 to a chap in Malta of all places.

I'v only ever had modern Porsches so this was a step into the unknown but I really like these cars, I have yet to collect my new one, the date is the 19th, I have to say Tom @ 911V has been utterly faultless so far, the list of bill's is insane but also kind of expected at that price point.

Whilst I would normally sway towards a low mile car (I'm sure I could have got one with half the miles for the same money) this was too good to ignore given the work that has gone into it. Whilst I would like a turbo, I have other cars that kind of fill that gap anyway so the S2 will make the perfect summer daily drive & I look forward or maintaining it to the same standard as the previous owner.
