IIRC the tow point is in a different place so that might cause a bit of agro, otherwise it should be OK. Isn't that what was fitted to a 944S any way?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, not sure i understand what you mean (IIRC ???) When you say it may cause a bit of agro, do you mean it wont fit?

Thanks

Ian

Sarcastic comment

Why would you want to fit a couple of photos to your car???

Siggy

PS the S2 rear will fit OK but the tow eye is a problem

Hi,

Thanks for the comment but i am still not clear, you say it will fit but the toe eye will be a problem?? does that mean it wont fit??

Thanks

Ian

Ian it will physically fit, but the tow eye on the Lux is in a different place from the S2/Turbo.

There is a pop out cover on the S2/Turbo rear which will not line up with your tow eye on the Lux

Firstly I have to declare a connection with a seller of the bumper and diffuser - that is my lawn in the photographs and I am selling those parts!

The towing eye on the S2/Turbo screws into the bumper mounting tube (see the attached picture). I am not sure where the towing eye screws into on the lux but I thought it was in the same place. The mounting bracket and cover in the bumper that accepts the towing eye is on the drivers side of the car.

Have you checked on your car to determine where the towing eye screws into?

Phil

I think the Lux (and 924) have a permanently attached towing loop below the bumper - you may have to remove it to fit the S2/Turbo bumper and diffuser.

IIRC correctly a lot of the issues discussed here before were with fitting a euro bumper to a US car. My lux had the underspoiler with its original bumber but I cannot recall how the towing eye fitted.

My 86 Lux has the Turbo rear splitter fitted as in the second of your pictures. The towing eye point sits right between this and the bumper. Although the splitter does fit (just) the eye will not fit in due to the angle on the splitter. Don't know how you could sort that one out but I've not had to use the rear towing eye on mine yet - guess you could remove the lager piece of splitter in an emergency (5 screws).

Also - my splitter is attached to the standard Lux bumper.

Hope this is of some help.

Ian,

Your car looks just like my old 944 Lux (apart from the wheels[;)]).
Crystal Green Metallic [8D]

.....but mine's supposed to be silver! hope it's just the picture.
...got new 968 handles and spoiler since that pic too[:)]

LOL - Must be the picture!

(Although it was sometimes difficult to tell Silver, Crystal Green, and Crystal Blue metallics apart [:D] )
