944 Rear Rubber Spoiler

Guest

New member
A small section of my rear rubber spoiler is beginning to part company with the glass, leaving a slight gap adjacent to one of the drainage holes. Can I merely glue this down or is it a bit more serious/complex than that?? [8|]
Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm aware, the rear spoiler is a self skinning PU foam casting. I would be very carefull if using adhesive as it may react and eat great big holes in your spoiler.

I think I would either:-

a) Leave well alone

b) Establish a source and price for a replacement spoiler and then (knowing the "risk") have a go with adhesive as, if it all goes wrong, you know that you can replace the spoiler any way.

c) Get a bridge spoiler - In this instance make sure it is an original as some of the after market jobbies are truely grim.

Is it possible to buy a bridge spoiler on its own? [8|]
I was always under the impression that you had to buy the entire tailgate at around £450!!! []

A couple of places do sell them as aftermarket bolt ons: EssentialStyling, Club Autosport and Van Zweeden in Holland but the easiest way is to buy a 968 hatch though they are rare and therefore expensive. I've seen an adjustable EssentialStyling one all painted up and it looks very very good. Pic here http://www.titanic.co.uk/cgi-bin/galleryimage.py?intReqPict=3115&intReqGall=2

Thanks for that Paul.
Have had a look on the Essential Styling website, but they are still looking for a not inconsiderable amount of money for a four piece rear spoiler. []
Will contact Simon Butterworth at Porsch-Apart and see if he has any used bits and pieces.
Thanks again.

There's one on ebay just now http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2441589580&category=10408
