944 Rear Seat Belts

Hi - newbie at this and considering buying a 1983 944 Lux FH.

I would want to fit rear seat belts and I note that securon indicate the 200 3 point static belt is applicable, better than just a lap belt - the 210.

Does the 944 have fitted as standard the 3 bolt screw anchor points for both rear seats?

I think the only surefire way of finding out is to remove the rear seat, (which is pretty easy really, just bonded in) and check you have the apropriate threaded mounting points.

edit- the third mounting point is on the C post and visible without having to remove any trim.

The threads are there under the seat , either side of the middle section, on the outer sections of the seat and on the c-pillars(under a black cap with phillips screw head)

My 86 lux did not have caps but I could feel the threaded hole through the upholstery.
I just cut a neat round hole with a craft knife and bolted on lap belts.

Hi Dico - many thanks for that. I thought they would be there somewhere as Securon is usually right.

Have you fitted rear belts yourself and if so where they 2 or 3 point?

If there are 3 points I am a littel surprised you cannot fit inertia reel belts.

I have a Morris Minor in which I did this mounting the reel on the rear parcel shelf.

Hi John
They are 3 point, but I haven't got round to fitting them yet (I'm very good at ebay purchasing but very slow at fitting stuff!).
They are the inertia type, £50 off ebay.

edit- they came from an S2 and are for my 86 turbo.

Hi Dico - can you point me in the direction of the seller for the inertia reel belts?

If not - can you tell me the make and type of the ones you bought so I may source elsewhere.

John, they were a one off from the seller who was breaking a 44.
I'm not sure if there is a name on them. They are currently tucked away in the shed somewhere, I won't get chance to check until weekend as I'm off for an early night prior to a two day trek to Scotland. If your still stuck I'll report back at weekend.
Perhaps have a look on ebay and ask sellers the question, theres usualy a few being broken.

None at the moment, but keep watching-

There's a company that often advertise in Porsche Post that specialise in fitting rear belts to cars that didn't have them from the factory. Can't remember the company name just now [&:]
