944 Rear Wiper Delete

I'm going to remove the rear wiper from my 944, but the only blanking grommet I can find online is from an ebay seller in America.

Anyone know of a UK supplier of them, or any member have one for sale?

Are there any instructions for the wiper delete anywhere? Toying with the idea.
Remove wiper and heavy motor, screw in replacement bung, rear hatch now pops up easily. [:)]

Of course, you can't see behind you now so use Rainex!

I believe that Promax bought Jon Mitchells and sold them at a higher price (sound familiar?).

I have a cheaper Bruce Arnn one which I would sell happily, but currently I have no idea where it is.

JMG £19.95 inc. VAT, Promax £19.94 inc. VAT. Not a huge mark-up if they are buying them from Jon! [;)]

You can use a plumbing fitting and some black paint to make the bung, and you end up with a pretty domed result instead of a cylindrical one. Oh, and it costs about 20p too!

Oli.

ETA: You will probably want to remove the switch from the dashboard as well. Dealers do the correct blanking-off plate to fill the hole. I can't remember the part number but seem to recall it cost about 69p.

There is of corse the super lightweight option - a piece of tape. Or the black rubber hole blanking grommet.
I used both of the above but eventually succumbed to the over engineered beauty of a Promax bung.

Im obviously very out of date, but JM will confirm that this is what happened.

Yes. Regularly. But the old mechanism rattled like it had a hyperactive baby on drugs stuck in it and I don't miss that one bit.

Lol Ed, I had one of those home brew jobs on mine years ago. Jon M looked at my car and it obviously upset the balance in his force for all things Porsche resulting in him giving me one of those bungs as a freebie. Not a great tactic though for those who will spend the £20 on fuel driving to Ferndown and hours lost Jon baiting.
