944 Register Dyno Day 2006

Just a quick poll to gauge interest if I were to organise another Rolling Road day around May, just like last year?

I propose we go back to Weltmeister at Silverstone because I believe they have the most accurate setup in the country, people who went last year can make a direct comparison with last years readings and finally its located virtually slap bang in the centre of the country (and only 8 miles from my house [:D])

Dyno Days aren't just for those crazy, pumped up power junkies who waste money modifying their perfectly good cars [8|]. They can also be very useful for determining the condition of our aging engines. Every day I've run has always produced one or two very disappointing results, and the owner has then gone on to find a problem he didn't know about. Once rectified, it gives their car a new lease of life.

If we get enough interest I'll get in touch with Allan at Weltmeister to discuss dates

I'm up for it after my failure to turn up last year (I had a decent reason!) Mines totally standard, and undoubtably down on it's 250, so I would like to see what needs doing!

keen to be involved. didn't make it last year as my engine was being re-built. would be good to know that Zentrum did a good job.

Sorry, can't bring the Pug for comparison with last year.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]Potentially I might be up for trailering the 944 so I can run the hearse also - so long as Allan doesn't mind a cell full of soot [:D][FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Count me in too. I can gauge the effect of the addition of the Promax chip and another 0.3ish bar of boost which I should have bought and installed by May. Just hope my cylinder head gasket is upto the job!!

Hi - could I bring my 993, I'm really interested to see what the output is given the milage

Pete

Me too..

I`ll see if it still has exactly 250 bhp [:D]......no more no less just as Porsche designed it [8D]

I went last year and can highly recommend it to anybody who hasn't tried it before , not only do you find out about the power output etc but Allan and his staff were welcoming, burger van was great and the 944 lads were a reet friendly bunch.. my only downside was tar splattered down both sides of the car and a 250 mile trip from Lancs at 5.30 am but it was worth it..

I know somebody with a 993 has enquired but I would also be interested in attending but will fully understand if its a 944 only Dyno.

Cheers
Chris

At the risk of being completely blown away by all you +300bhp owners, as happened to me at Jamsport -- might there be room for a 968 or 2? If so, I would happily plug it around our corner of Porscheland.

Had you got a date in mind yet?

I know I've already said I'm up for this on Titanic, and that still stands of course, but if there were any free spots left (unlikely I know given the great response so far) the I might be tempted to book a couple of runs so I could try some different air intakes on the car.
Best regards,
Peter.

So far I've got 31 interested parties from here and Titanic, so at least we know it's viable [:)] All Registers are welcome and everyone who has shown interest so far can have a place. Any new names now will have to go on the reserve, as there will always be dropouts

I'll get in touch with Allan and sort out a date and the maximum numbers he can cope with. We had 29 cars last year and didn't finish until after 7pm so I think 30 could be the limit (unless Allan and the boys have speeded up a bit [:D])

I'll be happy to run just the 944 if it can be filled with Porsches - I can run the hearse some other time.

I'd be really interested in coming along if there's space, depending on the date, as I'm away the last weekend in May
Matt

If I might be so bold.... It does take time to reconfigure the bed, lashing points (Oh! I say), fans etc to accept different cars. If you are intending to run anything other than 944's it might be quicker if these were run on block at the beginning or end.
