944 Roll Cage and Bucket Seat questions

Hi all

I have just become the proud owner of a 1984 porsche 944 2.5 with the old style dash. The purpose of this car is for use on trackdays and for going over to the nurburgring etc (cheaper than the excess on my Boxster while on the track).
Can anyone recommend a good supplier for roll cages and has anyone got any experience with them which makes are best and which to avoid. I will be looking for a rear cage, front cage and door bars ideally Boltable but welding isn't out of the question.

Also I am looking to replace the existing seats and belts with Bucket seats but I am not the smallest of frames can anyone suggest a good supplier near Andover in Hampshire who has seats stocked so I can try them for fit. Also has anyone come against any pitfalls while fitting them.

Regards

Neil

I'm no racing snake either, and I went to the Autosport show to try seats and settled on the Corbeau Sprint in XL size. I actually preferred the Pro Series but decided not to pay the 50% extra they cost. I don't know who would have seats you can sit in near Andover, but GPR at Silverstone looked to have a faur number when I was there last week.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I'm getting a weld-in cage from http://www.robinson-race-cars.co.uk/ - or at least I'm supposed to be; it was meant to be in by now and they haven't come back with a time, though I haven't pushed as I have been doing other things with the car and it would have been awkward if they had. I chose them because they can make me what I want without having to gut the interior hence making the car totally unusable on the road.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

I may have a bolt in cage available soon..... but it might be an idea to give kevin a call at EMC in bham

Could you give me Kevin's number please. It seems Safety devises went under recently which could cause a bit of a gap in the market place.

Regards Neil

I think Safety Devices are back with a slightly different name, but there are quite a few others also; Momo, Sparco, Roll Centre etc.
