944 S2 Body-Kit

How much would someone be looking at for a Porsche 944 S2 Body-Kit upgrade - front and rear bumpers/valances?

The reason I ask is this; take a wee look at this link. If I get myself a 944 I want one that looks just like this. This is beauty in car form. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2444427539&category=9860

Cheers....

Paul.

Don't want to put a dampener on the plans, but the front bumper, wings, headlights (I think) and badge panel are different on the S2 / Turbo. There is / was a Turbo 'style' front bumper available for the 944 Lux but the one I have seen was not very good up close.

Specifically the difference is that the bottom of the front wings comes to a sharp corner on non-Turbo front cars and it's more rounded on Turbo / S2 (top)

ps I hope the owners of the cars above don't mind me borrowing the pics from Titanic

Whilst kits are available to change the look of a Lux or S to that of a Turbo/S2, the cost of having this done to a good standard would probably be greater than the extra cost of buying a fair S2 over that of a Lux or an S.

If you further consider you would then get the added advantage of the later car, better brakes and more power there is much in favour of getting a real S2.

In addition to the above, fitting a non standard front could well devalue the original car making future potential purchasers suspicious of the cars origins.

Whilst few would admit it, you might also find that many would be less appreciative of a psuedo Turbo/S2. It would be a bit like putting Turbo stickers on the back - very Max Power. []

If you ultimately get a Lux or S you can be very, very proud of it. They are realy great cars . Don't spoil a great car by trying to pretend that it is something else.

Here's one that looks like it! Tho' it does not have the paint offspray down the door checks[:'(]. It's for sale, and it's in Scotland. Really well maintained, and all the 100k mile jobs have been done, including cam chain and tensioner, clutch, fuel and brake pipes, caliper overhauls, cam and balancer belts, torque tube, everything works, even the clock! only selling it because I've bought an M3. Have a look in the classifieds for more details. Cheers Billy.

Oh Billy, Billy, Billy! If only I had the money available. I tell you what, I'll watch the lottery and see how that goes. If I have any luck I'll let you know. Either that or I could trade you one of my weans - one at 5 of the male variety, the other is a 9 year old female. Both good for chimney sweeping and are well house trained - doing the dishes is a speciality!

In all seriousness your car looks stunning, mate. I just don't have that kind of money right now. I won't even make you an offer mate, because it would be an insult to you.

Cheers anyway, but if you decide to drop the asking price by say.....£5K, then you know where to find me [;)].

Awra Best,

Paul.
