944 S2 door cards

The cardboard part of the o/s door card in my 944 S2 cab has gone rotten due to dampness which I was told its a common problem. I wonder where can I get a replacement for the cardboard only so that I can just replace it with the rotten one.

They are the same as coupe ones apart from the rubber strip along the top, so just buy a used one from a breaker as it will be much, much easier. Expect to pay no more than £50 and less for a common colour (don't mention it's for a cab or they might say they don't have them or charge you much more for rarity, just keep the rubber off the old ones).

if the fronts are OK, I have successfully repaired the backs by using ... (dont laugh) strips of net lace curtains, with PVA glue. Apply the glue to the card, then stick the netting onto the card, then brush more glue onto the netting (like papier-mâché). Let dry to hardness.

works a treat

That seems quite a good idea. I just wonder what do you do with the missing cardboard bits that had dropped off due to years of dampness?
