944 S2 Front Springs Advice.

Nearly finished my S2, full paint bar front bumper various new seals and trim bits, wheels to do, but the one thing i must-do is drop the front by about 30mm as it sits to high for my liking.
What alternative springs are out there ?
The car is a 92 model I believe 968 CS springs will fit or 968 Sport springs ?
Advice peeps ?
 
CS and sport springs are the same, 20mm lower than standard.

CS and sport are exactly the same, unless it's M030, even then it's still only 20mm lower than standard, I can only think Porsche knew what they were doing to only lower 20mm

the front struts on the coupe CS and sport have the same part number so do the rears, excluding M030
 
Frenchy yes. I bought new 968 front struts for our 968 when we had it, previously my S2 had 968 H&R springs on Koni inserted dampers. The two were very similar except compared to the konis hardest setting. If I had time machine to go back to 2001 when I replaced the shocks on my S2 I would have used 968 parts instead. The parts are very expensive today though which has to be considered, each strut cost me over £200 compared to identical looking and handling/ride quality of the ones I bought recently for the Megane R26 at £51 each.
 
I looked at a total replacement for mine, the genuine parts came to nearly £1400 with springs

fronts
NS 951 343 031 12 @ £232
OS 951 343 032 12 @ £232
Rears
944 333 032 04 @ £278 each
Springs
968 CS Blue ID 944 343 531 09 904 @ £179.84

plus new bolts, nuts and other consumables

the big thing for me was the production date of all these parts was 10-12 years ago
 
I agree at that sort of price, the conversion to Koni or Bilstein is about half and a much better deal.

either on here or Tipec someone bought a set of new from OPC and the production date was 2005-2006, that's a lot of cash for parts that have been laying on a shelf somewhere for 10-12 years, and they were creamed no gas in them at all, the legs would just drop on their own down to fully compressed.

total waste of money, think they were taken back for a refund
 
I had some Techart (eibach) springs on my turbo for a while and they were also available for the S2, not sure if they are still available though. It was back when we did the 944 trip to the nurburgring , the factory and techart 2002? I was very pleased with the set on my turbo, they did wear out the (new standard) shocks within 50k miles though. I dont know if the spec was different for techart, they were labelled with techart and eibach.
