944 S2 just sold on Flea-Bay , anyone here ?

Looks like a proper bargain with very little to do on it, wish mine had a list of jobs to do as short as that. Not sure I could get used to the seats though.

Those seats are quite rare I beleive (thankfully) . I hate them myself and couldnt agree with you more. I suspect though that someone might want to buy them off of who ever has bought the car.

I see you have a Zermatt car so you obviously have far better taste [;)]

bluddy ell capitals are bad enough but no paragraphs ? I couldn't get past the second line and felt my life ebbing away.[:(]

That was hard to read! [&:]

Car looks good from the ad though. I'd sell that interior and get a plain one myself, very hard on the eyes.

yes I have to say the bodywork looked free of dents and scrapes and it had 12 months MOT .
Makes me a bit concerned about the value of my car to be honest.[&o]

Sorry Peanut, I just can't understand why any one would be worried about the value of their car....it's so low as to be unimportant. So just enjoy it and consider that whatever you spend on running it is likely to be massively less than the annual depreciation that most 997 owners are suffering.

well perhaps if like me you had no savings or a job you might view your car as a small investment as I did mine. It is all the money that I have in the world at the moment. I paid £3500 for it a couple of years ago and it looks like despite spending money on it its now depreciated by more than 50% !

Several years ago I broke my back and it has taken me 4 years to learn to walk again . In the first year I used up all my savings and had to sell my 944S2 which realised £4000 at the time.
That £4000 paid my for my home help care ,rent and bills for several months and saved my home and my life.

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]I[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"] think the key to the low price is "[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"]IT HAS BEEN UNUSED FOR A FEW YEARS".

Apologies for the Caps - I copied and pasted from the ebay ad.

Fair do's Peanut...you must be a complete Porsche nut to keep plugging away at ownership when you have so many other much more important concerns! Reading between the lines I suspect the joy of ownership is one of the things that keeps you sane! Apologies if I tramples on your sensitivities and permit me to amend my original comment to say '...why most people would be worried...'

Now do you understand ?[;)]

thanks Blease I apologise for my knee-jerk reaction . I know you had no intention of being insensitive , god knows I can be at times.
When I worked my income was very good and we enjoyed a good standard of living. When I bought a classic bike or car in the past I assessed the cost in terms of how many weeks income they represented (so we were relatively well off.)

It doesn't take long without income for your whole life to change . I'm not complaining because we are still quite comfortable fortunately but I now have to think very carefully about the smallest expenditure. If you have no savings or other assets then your possesions often become the only means of quickly raising some cash.
