Yes you are right , the rear badge has been placed on incorrectly ? Like that since I purchased it and can't be bothered to remove and refit .

My S2 is on ebay now for any on interested thanks. I think I might get off abroad for a while and need some spends .

Hi Oli, You have me curious ? Do you know something I don't ? Is it a rare colour or something I don't know about ?

Why will I regret selling this S2 mate ?

Hi Chris , We spoke one the phone mate !

This one has a great engine , but sadly needs a little body work .

Call me to arrange a test drive and I will call round to meet you and you can compare this S2 against yours ?

For some reason this S2 is extremely faster than other S2's I have driven in the past.

I have offered the 944 Turbo up for sale as a long term project !

Best regards JC

Overall my S2 drives like you would not believe ! It is tight and really firm on the road .
Now I am not going to lie to you ! The body work does need a little attention.
The rear panel has two visible surface rust patches , one on the rear Porsche lettering and one bellow the rear number plate light .
This can be sorted real easy , my main concern are the sills ? Now that I can not tackle myself and will cost me a few quid to sort it .
With the service history and strong engine , I might tackle the body work soon .
I believe that the 944 S2 and the 944 Turbo will be real future classic's and hold there price , as we see less and less about .
I offered my S2 on fleabay ebay for £2395 and did not sell ? It's worth more in parts ? I am not bothered and was in two minds to sell it.
The S2 brings me so much joy when I drive it and I would be pushed to buy anything equivalent for the money.
I have seen some really nice clean 944 S2's sold for very little money recently and don't get it ?
The amount of money been spent on these cars only to then be given away ?
Looks like I need to replace the front brake disc's and pads ;) Still fine for another few thousand miles or few years yet !
I had a race off the light the other day against a brand new Porsche Cayenne 4.2 and we were side by side 0-60mph
How much does the Cayenne cost new? And my 2k S2 was not left behind :)

The sills and rear panel look pretty rough imo. I would also be worried about the rust you can't see and importantly the rear suspension mounts. I think proper remedial work would reach 2k no bother and from that perspective breaking may be a better option. However if you can do the metal work yourself and time isn't an issue then much better to sort it. I don't think anybody who knows these cars would part with much money for it as is sits no matter how well it drives.

It does not cost 2K to sort the sill out ! Jesus Christ I won't be sending it into a Porsche dealership to have the work done !

I can and will have all the body work sorted and get change from £1000 and it will be done to a high standard .

The rear beam mounts are solid , I have checked them already . I sorted the sills out on a C reg 944 some years back and it was worse than this one .

Why would I spend £2000 on the body work of my S2 to then try to sell it for £3000 !

If the body work was mint and with all the service history my S2 has , then this car will demand between 4-6K but people are not prepared to pay that sort of money for these cars.

So these cars are for personal pleasure and it seems that maybe they are white elephants ? No return investment ? A bit more like money pits .

I enjoy driving my S2 and best devil know that Devil to know ? I think I will stick with it and sort the body work out and sort the drivers seat out and fit the new engine mounts.

944's are on the decline :(

Good luck! At least you never had a rant or anything lol! My 2k incidentally was for both sills, outer and what may be needed inner, both front wing bottoms and that crusty back panel plus paint btw which I dont think would be far out at an average price body shop!

Not having a Rant . Both the lower front wings on my S2 have already been repaired in the past , so you are assuming !

Drivers side complete inner and outer sill have been done in the past , just need tiding up on the out side .

Main area would be the passenger side inner and outer sill . A few hundred pounds .

I will have this S2 full quality complete re-spray, treat all rust areas and back to forma glory , with 968 side skirts fitted and possible front lower splitter , all in I would budget just under 1K

I am a bit of a perfectionist like most Porsche owners , but not plain stupid when it comes to having work carried out ! I do all the mechanical work myself to save money.

I shop around when it comes to body work . I treated a rust spot near the tail gate and is now sorted , the two small rust spots you see on the back panel are nothing .

You need to be careful where to get your work done ? People see a Porsche and think you are made of money ? End of the day it is just a car .

Best of luck with your wheel bearing ;)

I think your choice is simple, either pay to get the rust fixed yourself or sell the car off cheap and let someone else sort it. Personally I wouldn't buy an s2 with crusty cills unless it was dirt cheap, ie. under £2k, so you may have no option but to fix it yourself.

Ok cool! You have it under control clearly! Wheel bearing was correct and is now fitted. That was this afternoon's excitement after I got a wee sneaky half day from work!

Cheers

I hear what you say ,and yes you are right in what you say to a certain point.
Thing is you are not going to be able to buy an S2 with 8K worth of service history , M030 front struts , Koni rear shocks , Janspeed back box , Clifford alarm system and running like a dream with 10 months m.o.t and rd tax , for under 2k ??? You might get a basic no history bog standard S2 with crusty sills for just under 2k ??
I just replaced both belts and the S2 can be enjoyed as it is for now , but at some point it will need a little body work .
Once the body work is sorted , I will end up with a very reliable well maintained solid S2 for under 3k

I think you can not put a blank price on all S2's ? You need to look at each one individually ?

If you buy on without history and need to end up sorting the cam chain , tensioners , belts and on top the body work ? Then you might be into it for a few grand before you blink .

I went out for a run this eve and I must say I love the way it drives , and how fast it is for an S2 .

I will get it sorted and enjoy it .
